Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $25- 30/hr.
Shift: 7 AM - 3PM, 3 PM -11 PM, and 11 PM - 7 AM

Job Summary:
The Maintenance position will oversee and perform advanced mechanical and preventive maintenance on production equipment such as injection molding machines and auxiliary machinery in a plastics manufacturing environment. The role requires troubleshooting, repair, and installation skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal machine performance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on blown film extrusion machines, high speed bag converting equipment, conveyor systems, packaging and auxiliary equipment commonly used in plastic manufacturing lines.
Conduct preventive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and extend machine life.
Inspect, adjust, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components of manufacturing equipment.
Support multiple production lines by promptly diagnosing and resolving mechanical failures to avoid production delays.
Assist in equipment installation, relocation, and setup as required using power industrial vehicles (PIV).
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Train and supervise junior maintenance staff to uphold maintenance standards and safety protocols.
Participate in capital projects involving upgrades, new equipment installations, and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, reporting unsafe conditions or equipment.
Be available for on-call emergency maintenance as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of plastic production machinery, including injection molding equipment and auxiliary machines.
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and safety operating procedures.
Proficient in troubleshooting complex machinery issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS or maintenance documentation tools.
PIV certification or the ability to become certified.
Capability to lift moderate weights and work in physically demanding environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required, formal technical training or certifications in maintenance or mechanics highly preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably within blown film extrusion, high speed bag converting or related plastic manufacturing environments.
